Project name:
The innovation related to the 049020 R+D activities – Development of a sustainable soil bioremediation technology using spent oyster mushroom substrate
Project description:
This international project focuses on creating an eco-friendly method to clean contaminated soils. It leverages the waste produced from oyster mushroom cultivation as a key ingredient in the bioremediation process. By repurposing this agricultural byproduct, the project aims to detoxify soils, reduce environmental pollution, and promote sustainable agricultural and industrial practices. This innovative approach will not only address soil contamination but also provide a practical solution for managing mushroom cultivation waste, enhancing both environmental health and resource efficiency. The project is a collaborative effort between Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE), the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research (UFZ), ERGO Umweltinstitut GmbH and Pilze-Nagy Ltd.
